Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement - 1.6L LXT, L2W

1. Open the bonnet.
2. Disconnect battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
3. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor wiring harness plug.



4. Remove the 3 exhaust manifold heat shield bolts (1).
5. Remove the 3 exhaust manifold heat shields (2) from the exhaust manifold (3).

1. Install the 3 exhaust manifold heat shields (2) to the exhaust manifold (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. Install the 3 exhaust manifold heat shield bolts (1) and tighten to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
3. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor wiring harness plug.
4. Connect battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
5. Close the bonnet.
