1. Power Door Unlatch Malfunction |
The driver exterior door handle switch signal circuit provides inputs to the keyless entry control module when the driver exterior door handle switch is activated. These inputs allow the keyless entry control module to detect a driver door open request. The keyless entry control module provides a signal voltage to the driver exterior door handle switch via the driver door handle switch signal circuit. When the driver door handle is activated, the switch closes and the voltage signals from the keyless entry control module is pulled to ground.
Battery voltage is between 9-16 V.
The keyless entry control module detects the driver exterior door handle switch signal circuit is short-circuited to ground or closed for more than 180 s.
The driver door will not open when the exterior passenger door handle is pulled unless the door is first unlocked.
The driver exterior door handle will fail to trigger an unlock command of a locked vehicle.
• | The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present. |
• | When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 40 ignition cycles. |

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool keyless entry control module Exterior Driver Door Handle Switch parameter while pulling and releasing the driver door handle. The parameter should change between Active and Inactive each time the handle is pulled and released.
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal 2 for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K84 keyless entry control module. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K84 keyless entry control module |
⇒ | If not the specified value, replace the B27A door handle switch - driver exterior. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, replace the B27A door handle switch - driver exterior. |
