Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Replacement

Removal Procedure
- Remove the automatic transmission. Refer to
Transmission Replacement : 2.4L LAF → 2.0L Diesel LNP → 1.6L LDE, LXT, LXV, and 1.8L 2H0 .
- Fix the automatic transmission flexplate (1) using the EN-50432 fixing tool (2).
- Remove and DISCARD the automatic transmission plate retaining bolts (2).
- Remove the automatic transmission plate (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the automatic transmission flexplate (1).
- Install NEW automatic transmission flexplate retaining bolts (2). Do not tighten the bolts.
- Fix the automatic transmission flexplate (1) using the EN-50432 fixing tool (2).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Caution: Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Tighten the NEW automatic transmission flexplate retaining bolts in 2 steps to:
4.1. | First Step: Tighten the bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft). |
4.2. | Second Step: Tighten the bolts an additional45° . Use the EN-470-B angle meter . |
- Remove EN-50432 fixing tool.
- Install the automatic transmission. Refer to
Transmission Replacement : 2.4L LAF → 2.0L Diesel LNP → 1.6L LDE, LXT, LXV, and 1.8L 2H0 .
