Valve Rocker Arm Replacement

1. Remove the inlet camshaft. Refer to Inlet Camshaft Replacement .




Note: Set aside in the order removed.

2. Remove the 16 valve rocker arms with the hydraulic valve clearance adjusters (1).




Note: Unclip the tappet from valve rocker arm in direction as shown (arrow). Pay attention to centring link on retaining spring (3).

3. Remove the 16 valve rocker arms (1) from the hydraulic valve clearance adjusters (2).

Note: Clip in the valve rocker arm to the tappet. Pay attention to the centring link on the retaining spring (3).

1. Install the 16 valve rocker arms (1) to the hydraulic valve clearance adjusters (2).
2. Coat the 16 hydraulic valve clearance adjusters with engine oil.




Note: If the hydraulic valve clearance adjusters are being reused, the hydraulic valve clearance adjusters must be installed in their original positions.

3. Install the 16 valve rocker arms (1) with the hydraulic valve clearance adjusters.
4. Install the inlet camshaft. Refer to Inlet Camshaft Replacement .
