Exhaust Rear Silencer Heat Shield Replacement

Warning: Refer to Exhaust Service Warning in the Preface section.

Warning: Refer to Protective Goggles and Glove Warning in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Exhaust Flexible Pipe Bending Caution in the Preface section.

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Remove the spare wheel and carrier. Refer to Spare Wheel and Carrier Replacement .



3. Remove the exhaust rear auxiliary muffler bracket bolt (1) from the exhaust rear auxiliary muffler bracket (2).
4. Remove the 2 exhaust rear silencer hanger insulators (3) from the exhaust rear silencer .
5. Place the exhaust system on to the rear axle.



6. Remove the 4 retainers (2).
7. Remove the exhaust rear silencer heat shield (1).

1. Install the exhaust rear silencer heat shield (1).
2. Install the 4 retainers (2).



3. Install the exhaust rear muffler to the 2 exhaust rear muffler insulators (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

4. Install the exhaust rear auxiliary muffler bracket bolt (1) to the exhaust rear auxiliary muffler bracket (2) and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
5. Install the spare wheel and carrier. Refer to Spare Wheel and Carrier Replacement .
6. Lower and unsupport the vehicle.
