1. Security Indicator Malfunction |
The security indicator is controlled by the body control module based on commands from the immobilizer system or the content theft deterrent system. With the ignition OFF, the security indicator is commanded by the CTD system. With the ignition ON, the security indicator is commanded by the immobilizer system.
The security indicator is located in the instrument panel cluster and is supplied B+ at all times. When the immobilizer or content theft deterrent system requests the indicator be commanded ON, the body control module grounds the security indicator control circuit, illuminating the indicator.

Arm the CTD system. The security indicator should illuminate and/or flash during the arming sequence.
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If less than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 BCM. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
