Air Cleaner Element Replacement - 1.6L LDE, LXV, 1.8L 2H0, and LUW

Removal Procedure
  1. Open the bonnet.

  2. Disconnect the inlet air sensor wiring harness plug (1).
  3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement : 1.6L LDE, LXV, 1.8L 2H0, and LUW .

  4. Remove the 6 air cleaner housing cover bolts (3)
  5. Remove the air cleaner housing cover (4).
  6. Remove the air cleaner element (2) from the air cleaner housing (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air cleaner element (2) into the air cleaner housing (1).
  2. Install the air cleaner housing cover (4).

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the 6 air cleaner housing cover bolts (3) and tighten to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
  4. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement : 1.6L LDE, LXV, 1.8L 2H0, and LUW .

  5. Connect the inlet air sensor wiring harness plug (1).
  6. Close the bonnet.
