Transmission Fluid Level Inspection

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

Warning: Refer to Checking Hot Transmission Fluid through Drain Plug Hole Warning in the Preface section.





Note: It is not necessary to check the fluid level unless the fluid has been changed or a leak is suspected. Inspect the fluid level only when the engine is off. Ensure the vehicle is level.

2. Remove the transmission case oil fill plug (1) and check the fluid level. The fluid should come to the bottom edge of the plug hole.
3. If the level is low, add manual gearbox fluid through the filler plug hole until the fluid begins to run out.

Caution: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution in the Preface section.

Install the transmission case oil fill plug (1) and tighten to 6 N·m + 45° till 180° (53 lb in + 45° till 180°).
