Timing Belt Lower Front Cover Replacement

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
2. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement : MT - F17, M32 → MT - D16, D20 → LXV, LXT, 2H0, LUW - AT → LLU, LDE - AT



3. Remove the 4 lower timing belt cover bolts (2).
4. Remove the lower timing belt cover (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




1. Install the lower timing belt cover (1).
2. Install the 4 lower timing belt cover bolts (2) and tighten to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
3. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement : MT - F17, M32 → MT - D16, D20 → LXV, LXT, 2H0, LUW - AT → LLU, LDE - AT
4. Lower the vehicle.
