Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise vehicle by its full height. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .

  3. 2028247
  4. Remove the charge air cooler inlet air tube bolt (4).
  5. Remove the 2 hose clamps (3).
  6. Remove the 3 air charge air cooler inlet air tube bolts (1).
  7. Remove the charge air cooler inlet air tube (2).

  9. Remove the crankshaft position sensor bolt (1).
  10. Remove the crankshaft position sensor (2).
  11. Remove the crankshaft position sensor gasket (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the crankshaft position sensor gasket (3).
  2. Note: Guarantee that no dirt or swarf contaminate the crankshaft position sensor housing.

  3. Install the crankshaft position sensor (2).
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Install the crankshaft position sensor bolt (1) and tighten to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  7. Install the charge air cooler inlet air tube (2).
  8. Install the 3 charge air cooler inlet air tube bolts (1) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  9. Install the 2 hose clamps (3).
  10. Install the charge air cooler inlet air tube bolt (4) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  11. Install the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
  12. Lower the vehicle full height.
