Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Replacement

1. Open the bonnet.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
3. Remove the inlet manifold brace. Refer to Inlet Manifold Brace Removal .



4. Remove the 4 exhaust gas recirculation pipe bolts (1, 3) from the inlet manifold.
5. Remove the 2 exhaust gas recirculation pipe nuts (5) from the exhaust gas recirculation valve adapter.
6. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation pipe (4).
7. Remove the 2 exhaust gas recirculation pipe seals (2, 6).

1. Install the 2 NEW exhaust gas recirculation pipe seals (2, 6).
2. Install the exhaust gas recirculation pipe (4).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

3. Install the 2 exhaust gas recirculation pipe nuts (5) to the exhaust gas recirculation valve adapter and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
4. Install the 2 exhaust gas recirculation pipe bolts (3) to the inlet manifold and tighten to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
5. Install the 2 exhaust gas recirculation pipe bolts (1) to the inlet manifold and tighten to 12 N·m (107 lb in).
6. Install the inlet manifold brace. Refer to Inlet Manifold Brace Installation .
7. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
8. Close the bonnet.
