Auxiliary Generator Bracket Replacement - 1.6L LXT,L2W

1. Open bonnet.
2. Disconnect battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Alternator, Air Conditioning Compressor, and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement .
4. Loosen the generator fastener.



5. Remove the generator bracket stud (3).
6. Pull the generator counterwise the driving direction.
7. Remove the 2 generator adjust bracket nuts (1).
8. Remove the generator adjust bracket (2).

1. Install the generator adjust bracket (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. Install the 2 generator adjust bracket nuts (1) and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
3. Pull the generator in driving direction.
4. Install the generator bracket stud (3) and tighten to 22 N·m (17 lb ft).
5. Tighten the generator fastener to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).
6. Install the drive belt. Refer to Alternator, Air Conditioning Compressor, and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement .
7. Connect battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
8. Close bonnet.
