Clutch Master Cylinder Replacement - Right Hand Drive

Removal Procedure

    Note: Do NOT disconnect engine coolant hoses.

  1. Remove the radiator surge tank clip (1).
  2. Remove the radiator surge tank.
  3. Position the radiator surge tank aside.

    Note: Before disconnecting the reservoir tank hose, remove the clutch/brake fluid from the reservoir tank.

  4. Disconnect the master cylinder reservoir hose (1) from the master cylinder (2).
  5. Remove the clutch actuator cylinder front pipe retainer (3).
  6. Disconnect the clutch actuator cylinder front pipe (4) from the master cylinder (2).

  8. Disconnect the push rod retainer (1) from the clutch pedal.
  9. Remove the master cylinder nuts (2).
  10. Remove the master cylinder (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the master cylinder (3).
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the master cylinder nuts (2) and tighten to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
  4. Connect the push rod retainer (1) to the clutch pedal.

    Note: Before disconnecting the reservoir tank hose, remove the clutch/brake fluid from the reservoir tank.

  6. Connect the master cylinder reservoir hose (1) to the master cylinder (2).
  7. Connect the clutch actuator cylinder front pipe (4) to the master cylinder (2).
  8. Install the clutch actuator cylinder front pipe retainer (3).
  9. Bleed the hydraulic clutch system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch System Bleeding .
  10. Fill the reservoir with clutch/brake fluid up to the MAX level.

  12. Install the radiator surge tank.
  13. Install the radiator surge tank clip (1).
