Clutch Master Cylinder Replacement - Right Hand Drive
Removal Procedure
Note: Do NOT disconnect engine coolant hoses.
- Remove the radiator surge tank clip (1).
- Remove the radiator surge tank.
Position the radiator surge tank aside.
Note: Before disconnecting the reservoir tank hose, remove the clutch/brake fluid from the reservoir tank.
- Disconnect the master cylinder reservoir hose (1) from the master cylinder (2).
- Remove the clutch actuator cylinder front pipe retainer (3).
- Disconnect the clutch actuator cylinder front pipe (4) from the master cylinder (2).
- Disconnect the push rod retainer (1) from the clutch pedal.
- Remove the master cylinder nuts (2).
- Remove the master cylinder (3).
Installation Procedure
- Install the master cylinder (3).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the master cylinder nuts (2) and tighten to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Connect the push rod retainer (1) to the clutch pedal.
Note: Before disconnecting the reservoir tank hose, remove the clutch/brake fluid from the reservoir tank.
- Connect the master cylinder reservoir hose (1) to the master cylinder (2).
- Connect the clutch actuator cylinder front pipe (4) to the master cylinder (2).
- Install the clutch actuator cylinder front pipe retainer (3).
- Bleed the hydraulic clutch system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch System Bleeding .
- Fill the reservoir with clutch/brake fluid up to the MAX level.
- Install the radiator surge tank.
- Install the radiator surge tank clip (1).
