Fuel Tank Draining

CH-45004 Fuel Tank Drain Hose

Warning: Never drain or store fuel in an open container. Always use an approved fuel storage container in order to reduce the chance of fire or explosion.

Warning: Place a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby before performing any on-vehicle service procedures. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury.

Warning: Refer to Fuel Escape Warning in the Preface section.

1. Remove the fuel fill cap.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
3. Loosen the fuel fill pipe hose clamp at the fuel tank.
4. Separate the fuel fill pipe hose from the fuel tank.
5. Insert the CH-45004 drain hose into the fuel tank until the hose reaches the bottom of the fuel tank.
6. Use a hand or air operated pump device in order to drain as much fuel as possible.
