Ignition Coil Replacement

Warning: DC and AC high-voltage is present. To reduce the risk of severe shocks and burns, the high-voltage system should be disabled any time service work is being performed on or around the high-voltage system. When in doubt, always disable the high-voltage system. The 12-volt system will still be active after the high-voltage system has been disabled.

1. Open the bonnet.
2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
3. Remove the 4 spark plug leads.



4. Remove the 3 ignition coil nuts (2).
5. Remove the ignition coil (1).

1. Install the ignition coil (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. Install the 3 ignition nuts (2) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
3. Install the 4 spark plug leads.
4. Install the sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
5. Close the bonnet.
