Sump Replacement

1. Open the bonnet.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
3. Remove the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement : 2.0L Diesel LNP → LDE,LLU,LXT,LXV,L2W,2H0 .
4. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .



5. Remove the 3 sump to transmission bolts (2).
6. Remove the 15 sump bolts (3).

Note: 

•	Use a suitable tool.

•	Be carefully do not damage the sump and sump sealing surface. Refer to Separating Parts .

7. Remove the sump (1).

Note: 

•	Ensure that the sump sealing surface (2) is clear of oil, grease and old gasket material.

•	Do not coat sealant on the sump bolt holes, it could damage the sump bolt threads or the engine block.

1. Inspect the sump (1) of damages, nicks and cracks. Refer to Sump Cleaning and Inspection .
2. Coat sealant on the sump sealing surface (2).



3. Install the sump (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

4. Install the 15 sump bolts (3) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
5. Install the 3 sump to transmission bolts (2) and tighten to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
6. Install the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement : 2.0L Diesel LNP → LDE,LLU,LXT,LXV,L2W,2H0 .
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Fill in NEW engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
9. Close the bonnet.
