Crankshaft Pulley Replacement

Special Tools

For equivalent regional tools, Refer to Special Tools : 1.6L LXT .

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Remove the front compartment splash shield. Refer to Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement .



3. Rotate the drive belt tensioner bolt (2) clockwise.
4. Remove the drive belt (1) while pulling the drive belt tensioner with a suitable tool (3).



5. Remove the engine/transmission bolt (1).



6. Install the EN-6625 holder (2).
7. Install and tighten the engine/transmission bolt (1).



8. Remove and DISCARD the crankshaft pulley bolt (2).
9. Remove the crankshaft pulley (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




1. Install the crankshaft pulley (1) and NEW bolt (2) with screw locking compound and tighten in 3 passes, using the EN-45059 meter :

1.1.	First pass to 95 N·m (70 lb ft)

1.2.	Second pass to 30°

1.3.	Third pass to 15°.




2. Remove the engine/transmission bolt (1).
3. Remove the EN-6625 holder (2).



4. Install the engine/transmission bolt and tighten to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).



5. Rotate the drive belt tensioner bolt (2) clockwise.
6. Install the drive belt (1) while pulling the tensioner with a suitable tool (3).
7. Rotate the tensioner anticlockwise to tension the drive belt (2)
8. Install the front compartment splash shield. Refer to Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement .
9. Lower the vehicle.
