DTC Descriptor

DTC P161F 32: Assembly Plant Mode Counter Not Programmed General Memory Malfunction

DTC P161F 36: Assembly Plant Mode Counter Not Programmed EEPROM Performance/Malfunction

DTC P161F 44: Assembly Plant Mode Counter Not Programmed Security Access Not Activated

Circuit/System Description

This diagnostic addresses if the ECM is not programmed with the Assembly Plant Mode Counter.

Conditions for Running the DTC

    • The ignition is ON.
    • The DTC runs continuously once the above condition is met.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The ECM detects that the Assembly Plant Mode Counter is not programmed in the EEPROM for greater than 1 s.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

DTCs P161F is a Type C DTC.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

DTCs P161F is a Type C DTC.

Circuit/System Testing

Program the ECM. If DTC P161F sets after programming, perform the following steps:

    • Ensure that all tool connections are secure.
    • Ensure the programming equipment is operating correctly.
    • Ensure the correct software and the correct calibration is used.
    • Attempt to program the ECM.
       ⇒If DTC P161F sets, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
