DTC P2458

This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates that the engine control module (ECM) has determined that the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration Time exceeds a calibrated threshold.

The DTC runs during the DPF regeneration process.

The ECM determines that the DPF regeneration process time exceeds a calibrated amount.

Control Module References for scan tool information

1. Ignition ON, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Verify that no other DTCs are set.

⇒	If any other DTCs are set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle for further diagnosis.

2. Ignition OFF, inspect the hose/pipes to the B154 Diesel Particulate Filter Exhaust Differential Pressure Sensor for leaks, or restrictions.

⇒	If a condition is found, repair as necessary.

3. Inspect the hose/pipes of the intake air system for leaks, or restrictions.

⇒	If a condition is found, repair as necessary.

4. Inspect the hose/pipes of the exhaust system for leaks, or restrictions.

⇒	If a condition is found, repair as necessary.

5. Perform the DPF Service Regeneration. Refer to Exhaust Particulate Filter Cleaning .
6. Verify the DTC does not reset.

⇒	If the DTC resets, replace the DPF filter.
