Circuit/System Description

The following module/sensors monitor the system voltage circuit to determine if the voltage is within the normal operating range:

    • Electronic brake control module
    • Power steering control module
    • Steering wheel position sensor
    • Multi-axis acceleration sensor

Conditions for Running the DTC

Ignition is ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

Electronic Brake or Power Steering Control Module

C0800 03

    • The module detects that the system voltage is less than 9,2 V.
    • The above condition is present for 7 seconds.

C0800 07

    • The module detects that the system voltage is greater than 16 V.
    • The above condition is present for 7 seconds.

Electronic Brake Control Module

C0800 0D

The module detects a loss of solenoid ground.

Steering Wheel Angle or Multi-Axis Acceleration Sensor

C0800 03

The module detects that the sensor reference voltage is less than 4,8 V for more than 5 seconds.

C0800 07

The module detects that the sensor reference voltage is greater than 5.2 V for more than 5 seconds.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

A driver information centre message and/or a warning indicator may be displayed.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The system voltage returns to normal operating range.

Diagnostic Aids

    • A high or low voltage value or DTC set in multiple modules/sensors indicates a concern in the charging system.
    • A possible cause of this DTC could be overcharging with a battery charger or jump starting.

Circuit/System Verification

  1. Engine running, measure and record the voltage at the C1 battery terminals.
  2. Verify that the battery voltage is 12,6-15,5 V.
  3. If the battery voltage is not within the specified range, refer to Charging System Test .
  4. Observe the appropriate module scan tool Battery Voltage parameters. Verify that the scan tool displays a value that is within 2 V of the C1 battery terminal voltage.

Circuit/System Testing

K17 Electronic Brake Control Module

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K17 electronic brake control module.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 3 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 13 and ground.
  3. If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuits listed below and ground:
  5. • Terminal 1
    • Terminal 25
    If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the K17 electronic brake control module. If the DTC resets, replace the appropriate sensor.

K43 Power Steering Control Module

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K43 power steering control module.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 3 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 1 and ground.
  3. If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 2 and ground:
  5. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the K43 power steering control module.

B99 Steering Wheel Angle or B119 Multi-axis Acceleration Sensor

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate sensor.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 3 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal 6 and ground.
  3. If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, test for 4,8-5,2 V between the 5 V reference circuit terminal 5 and ground:
  5. If less than the specified range, test the 5 V reference circuit for a Short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K17 electronic brake control module.
    If greater than the specified range, test the 5 V reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K17 electronic brake control module.
  6. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the appropriate sensor.
