Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement

1. Open bonnet.




Note: Graphic shows exhaust camshaft position sensor. Use same procedure for Intake camshaft position sensor.

2. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor wiring harness plug (1).




Note: Graphic shows exhaust camshaft position sensor. Use same procedure for Intake camshaft position sensor.

3. Remove the camshaft position sensor bolt (3).
4. Remove the camshaft position sensor (2) and the seal ring (1).

Note: Graphic shows exhaust camshaft position sensor. Use same procedure for Intake camshaft position sensor.

1. Install the camshaft position sensor (2) and the seal ring (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. Install the camshaft position sensor bolt (3) and tighten to 8 N·m (71 lb in).




Note: Graphic shows exhaust camshaft position sensor. Use same procedure for Intake camshaft position sensor.

3. Connect the camshaft position sensor wiring harness plug (1).
4. After replacement of a camshaft position sensor, use a scan tool to speed up learn function. Refer to Engine Control Module Programming and Setup : LNP → LUW, LUJ → LLW → LXT → LXV, 2H0
5. Close bonnet.
