Rear Brake Calliper Vibration Damper Replacement

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  3. Open the cap (2) of the brake calliper vibration damper (1), to gain access to the internal torx.

  4. 2192643
  5. Remove the brake calliper vibration damper (2) from the brake calliper vibration damper stud (1).
  6. Hold against internal torx of damper stud (1).

  7. Remove the damper stud (1) from the rear brake.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Install the damper stud (1) to the rear brake and tighten to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).
  2. Attach the brake calliper vibration damper (2) to the stud (1) by turn in 2 threads ONLY.
  3. Tighten the brake calliper vibration damper (2) to 9 N·m (80 lb in) with a suitable tool.

  5. Close the cap (2) of the brake calliper vibration damper (1).
  6. Lower the vehicle.
