Circuit/System Description

The power sounder monitors the alarm enable signal circuit and will sound an audible alarm when the body control module indicates a event has occurred that requires an alarm. The power sounder also monitors its own voltage circuits independent of the body control module. In the event of the interruption of voltage to the power sounder, the alarm will sound.

Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON, command the Alarm Siren ON and OFF with a scan tool. The alarm siren should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the P25 Power Sounder Content Theft Deterrent Alarm Module.
  2. Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 4 and ground.
  3. If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 2 and ground.
  5. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the P25 Power Sounder Content Theft Deterrent Alarm Module.

Repair Instructions
