DTC Descriptor

DTC P0610 00: Control Module Vehicle Options Incorrect

Circuit/System Description

This diagnostic verifies that the engine control module (ECM) is programmed for the correct vehicle options.

Conditions for Running the DTC

    • The ignition is ON.
    • The ignition voltage is between 8-16 V.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The ECM detects that programming for vehicle options is incorrect.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • DTC P0610 00 is a Type C DTC.
    • The service vehicle soon indicator will illuminate.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

DTC P0610 00 is a Type C DTC.

Circuit/System Verification

  1. Engine running, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. DTC P0610 00 should not set.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the freeze frame/failure records data.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Program the K20 Engine Control Module. Refer to Control Module References .
  2. Clear DTCs with a scan tool.
  3. Ignition OFF, allow the K20 Engine Control Module to completely power down.
  4. Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running DTC P0610 00.
  5. Verify with a scan tool that DTC P0610 00 has not reset.
  6. If DTC P0610 00 does reset, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
