Timing Chain Damper Replacement
EN-49073 Pin - Timing Chain Tensioner
For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools
Removal Procedure
- Remove the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement .
Note: Avoid that the timing chain skips.
- Tension the timing chain tensioner. Fix the tensioner with the EN-49073 pin (1).
- Remove the timing chain damper bolt (3).
- Remove the timing chain damper (2).
Installation Procedure
- Apply safety agent to the timing chain damper bolt (3).
Note: Avoid that the timing chain skips.
- Install the timing chain damper (2).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the timing chain damper bolt (3) and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Remove the EN-49073 tensioner (1).
- Rotate the engine 2 revolutions clockwise.
- Set crankshaft 90° beyond TDC of combustion stroke of cylinder 1 and inspect for the following conditions:
• | The arrow on the inlet camshaft gear (1) must match with the arrow on the exhaust camshaft gear (2). |
• | The notch in the camshaft sprocket (4) must match with mark on the engine block (3). |
- Install the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement .
