Power Steering Pump Replacement

1. Remove the power steering pump belt. Refer to Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement .
2. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.



3. Disconnect the fluid pressure switch connector (1) from the pump.
4. Disconnect the inlet hose (2) from the pump.
5. Disconnect the outlet pipe fitting (3) from the pump.
6. Remove the front shackle bolt (4) from the pump.



7. Remove the rear shackle bolts (1) from the pump.
8. Remove the power steering pump and shackle assembly from the vehicle.

1. Install the power steering pump.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




2. Install the power steering pump rear shackle bolts (1) and tighten to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).



3. Install the power steering pump front shackle bolt (4) and tighten to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
4. Install the power steering pump outlet pipe fitting (3) and tighten to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).
5. Connect the power steering pump inlet hose (2).
6. Connect the fluid pressure switch connector (1).
7. Install the power steering pump belt. Refer to Power Steering Pump Belt Installation .
8. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
