Steering Knuckle Replacement
Removal Procedure
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Remove the front tyre and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
Disconnect the outer track rod end from the steering knuckle. Refer to
Steering Linkage Outer Track rod Replacement
.
Separate the control arm ball joint from the steering knuckle. Refer to
Lower Control Arm Replacement
.
Separate the wheel drive shaft from the steering knuckle. Refer to
Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement
.
Remove the brake disc. Refer to
Front Brake Rotor Replacement
.
Remove the wheel speed sensor, if equipped with ABS. Refer to
Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement

Right Side

Remove the brake rotor splash shield from the steering knuckle. Refer to
Front Brake Shield Replacement
.
Remove the bolts and nuts (1) attaching the strut to the knuckle.
Remove the steering knuckle assembly (2) from the strut assembly (1).
Installation Procedure
Install the steering knuckle assembly (2) to the strut assembly (1).
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the strut to knuckle retaining bolts and nuts (1) and tighten to
100 N·m (74 lb ft)
.
Install the brake rotor splash shield to the steering knuckle. Refer to
Front Brake Shield Replacement
.
Install the wheel speed sensor, if equipped with ABS. Refer to
Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement

Right Side

Left Side

Install the brake disc. Refer to
Front Brake Rotor Replacement
.
Install the wheel drive shaft to the steering knuckle. Refer to
Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement
.
Install the control arm ball joint to the steering knuckle. Refer to
Lower Control Arm Replacement
.
Install the outer track rod end to the steering knuckle. Refer to
Steering Linkage Outer Track rod Replacement
.
Install the front tyre and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
Lower the vehicle.
