Positive Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator Installation

Special Tools

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

1. Ensure that the EN-50515 fixing tool  (1) is already installed at the exhaust side and engages in the exhaust camshaft.



2. Ensure that the EN-50516 fixing tool  (1) is already installed and engage at the flywheel (2) and engine block.




Note: The camshaft sprocket is loosely installed at the exhaust camshaft. Install the positive crankcase ventilation oil separator carefully.

3. Install the positive crankcase ventilation oil separator (2).

Note: Do not tighten the camshaft sprocket bolt.

4. Install a NEW camshaft sprocket bolt (1).




Note: The holding pins from the EN-50514 holder  (1) must be installed exactly in the holes (arrows) from the camshaft sprocket (2).

5. Install EN-50514 holder  (1) with the EN-956-1 extension to counterhold the camshaft sprocket (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

6. Tighten the camshaft sprocket bolt (3) to 100 N·m +45° (74 lb ft +45°).
7. Remove the EN-50514 holder (1).



8. Remove the EN-50515 fixing tool (1).



9. Remove the EN-50516 fixing tool  (1).
10. Inspect the camshaft timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Inspection .



11. Clean the threads from cylinder head core hole plug and camshaft housing.
12. Install the cylinder head core hole plug exhaust side (2) to the camshaft housing (1) and tighten to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).



13. Install the positive crankcase ventilation cover gasket (2).
14. Install the positive crankcase ventilation cover (1).
15. Install the 4 positive crankcase ventilation cover bolts (3) and tighten in a cross sequence to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
