Engine Compression Test

•	EN-46783 Thread Adapter

•	EN-46791 Adapter

•	EN-47632 Cleaning Tool

For equivalent regional tools refer to Special Tools .

Clean the injector sealing surfaces in the cylinder head using the EN-47632 cleaning tool (1) in the following procedure:

•	first use the brush side to loosen the dirt.

•	second use the sponge side to remove the dirt.

Remove the front compartment fuse block cover (1) from the fuse block (2).
Remove the fuel pump relay KR23A. Refer to Relay Replacement : Within an Electrical Center → Attached to Wire Harness .

Note: EN-46791 adapter can only be installed in pairs along with the fuel injector at cylinder 1 and cylinder 2.

Install the EN-46791 adapter (1) with the fuel injector (2) and the fuel injector bracket in cylinder 1 with a NEW fuel injector gasket.
Install the fuel injector washer.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Note: Use a compression plotter with a measuring range of 10-40 bar (145-580 PSI).

Install a suitable compression plotter (1) to the EN-46783 thread adapter .
Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

Note: A second person is required.

Note: Engine speed at least 200 RPM.

Start the engine for approximate 4 seconds.
Check the compression of cylinder 1.
Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
Remove the EN-46791 adapter with the compression plotter from cylinder 1.
Repeat the steps 1-10 for cylinder 2 and 3.

Note: Maximum pressure difference 1.5 bar (22 PSI).

Install the fuel pump relay KR23A. Refer to Relay Replacement : Within an Electrical Center → Attached to Wire Harness .
