Rack and Pinion Boot Replacement

Tools Required

J-22610 Keystone Clamp Pliers

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Remove the outer track rod. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Track rod Replacement .



3. Remove the dust boot outer retaining clamps.
4. Cut and remove the dust boot inner retaining clamps.
5. Remove the dust boot.

1. Install the dust boot.
2. Install the dust boot outer retaining clamp.
3. Install the dust boot inner retaining clamp with the J-22610 pliers .
4. Install the outer track rod. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Track rod Replacement .
5. Lower the vehicle.
