Steering Linkage Outer Track rod Replacement

1. Raise and support the vehicle on an alignment rack. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Remove the front tyre and wheel assembly. Refer to Tyre and Wheel Removal and Installation .
3. Use paint in order to place match marks on the steering linkage inner track rod nut and on the steering linkage inner track rod.



4. Remove the outer track rod nut.
5. Disconnect the outer track rod from the steering knuckle.



6. Loosen the steering linkage inner track rod nut.
7. Remove the outer track rod from the inner track rod.

1. Install the outer track rod to the inner track rod.



2. Connect the outer track rod to the steering knuckle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

3. Install the outer track rod nut and tighten to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

Note: Tighten the steering linkage inner track rod nut after adjusting the front toe.

4. Measure and adjust the front toe. Refer to Wheel Alignment - Steering Wheel Angle and/or Front Toe Adjustment .
5. Install the front tyre and wheel assembly. Refer to Tyre and Wheel Removal and Installation .
6. Lower the vehicle.
