Preliminary Procedure

Remove the front side door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement : Long Body  → Short Body .

Front Side Door Outside Handle Screws Access Cover

Procedure

Remove the water deflector.

Tip
Use a flat-bladed tool to remove the cover.

Front Side Door Outside Handle Lock Cylinder Screw

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Procedures

1. Disconnect the lock rod from the cylinder.
2. Do Not remove the cylinder screw completely from the housing un-screw the screw to a hard stop, remove the cylinder.

Tip
It is not necessary to remove the outside door handle or housing to replace the cylinder.

Tighten
5 N·m (44 lb in)

Procedure

1. Ensure that the front side door outside handle cap gasket stay in place when installing.
2. Inspect the door for proper operation before installing the door trim panel.
