Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Intake - LE5 , LE9, or LAF

1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement : LE5 or LE9 .
2. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement : LE5 or LE9 .



3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the intake camshaft position (CMP) sensor.



4. Remove the intake CMP sensor bolt.
5. Remove the intake CMP sensor.

Note: Inspect the intake CMP sensor for damage, replace as necessary.

1. Lubricate the intake CMP sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
2. Install the intake CMP sensor.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

3. Install the intake CMP sensor bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).




4. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the intake CMP sensor.
5. Install the inlet manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement : LE5 or LE9 .
6. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement : LE5 or LE9 .
