Preliminary Procedures

1. Disconnect the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
2. Disconnect the tailgate strut. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement .
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Tailgate Hinge Bolt (Qty: 4)

Caution : Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Procedure

1. Transfer parts as needed.
2. Adjust the tailgate if needed.
