Preliminary Procedure

Remove the tailgate trim panel. Refer to Tailgate Trim Panel Replacement : Long Body  → Short Body .

Tailgate Latch Bolt (Qty: 3)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

1. Disconnect the actuator rods from the latch.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped.

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Procedure

Adjust the tailgate if needed.
