Preliminary Procedures

1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement : Long Body  → Short Body .
3. Remove front door check link bolt. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement .

Front Side Door Upper Bolt to Door (Qty: 2)

Caution : Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

1. Remove the water deflector.
2. Support the door before removing the hinge bolts.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped.

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Procedure

1. With the aid of an assistant, remove the door.
2. If installing a new door, transfer all the necessary components.
3. Inspect the door locking system for proper operation before installing the trim panel.
4. Inspect the door for proper alignment. If door adjustments are needed, refer to Front Side Door Adjustment .
