Front Brake Hose Replacement

Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution in the Preface section.

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Remove the tyre and wheel assembly. Refer to Tyre and Wheel Removal and Installation .



3. Disconnect the brake pipe fitting (1) from the brake hose .
4. Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.



5. Remove the brake hose bracket bolt (1).



6. Release the wheel speed sensor harness retaining clips (1) and release the harness.



7. Remove the brake hose bracket bolt (1).



8. Remove the brake hose fitting bolt (1) from the brake hose and the calliper.
9. Remove the brake hose (2) from the calliper.

Note: Do not reuse the brake hose fitting gaskets.

10. Remove and discard the brake hose fitting gaskets (3).
11. Remove the brake hose.

1. Assemble the brake hose fitting bolt (1) and the new brake hose fitting gaskets (2) to the brake hose (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. Install the brake hose assembly to the calliper and tighten the fitting bolt to 44 N·m (32 lb ft).



3. Install the brake hose bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 12 N·m (106 lb in).



4. Install the wheel speed sensor harness and secure the retaining clips (1).



5. Install the brake hose bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 12 N·m (106 lb in).



6. Connect the brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
7. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding : Manual  → Pressure .
8. Install the tyre and wheel assembly. Refer to Tyre and Wheel Removal and Installation .
