Preliminary Procedures

1. With the ignition key ON, engine off, electrically park the rear wiper arm at mid-way position on the rear window.
2. After the rear wiper arm nut has been removed, rock the wiper arm from the wiper motor pivot shaft.
3. Remove the rear wiper arm from the pivot shaft.
4. Using a soft wire brush, clean the knurls on the wiper motor pivot shaft.
5. Ignition key ON, engine OFF, electrically park the wiper motor pivot shaft.

Tip
Use a small flat-bladed tool to disengage the finish cap from the wiper arm.

11 N·m (97 lb in)

Rear Window Wiper Arm Assembly

Procedure

1. Remove the rear window wiper blade. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Blade Replacement : Long Body .
2. Place the new wiper arm tab into the rear window wiper arm parking ramp and hold firmly into the ramp while securing the wiper arm nut.
3. Install the rear wiper arm finish cap.
4. Operate the rear window washer and wiper arm and inspect the PARK position of the rear wiper arm into the ramp.
