1. Door Unlock Function Inoperative 2. Door Lock Function Inoperative |
When the BCM receives a command to unlock the doors, the BCM will briefly provide a ground to the DOOR UNLOCK relay. The DOOR UNLOCK relay will then become energised and will supply B+ voltage to the door latches.
• | The system voltage is 9-16 volts. |
• | When the BCM actively commands the DOOR UNLOCK relay |
The BCM detects a short to ground or an open/high resistance on the DOOR UNLOCK relay control circuit.
The door latches will malfunction.
• | The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present. |
• | When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles. |

Ignition ON, command the doors to LOCK and UNLOCK by toggling the driver door lock switch between the LOCK and UNLOCK positions. The doors should perform the LOCK and UNLOCK functions.
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the B+ circuit fuse is open, test the control circuit terminal 30 for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the DOOR UNLOCK relay. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
⇒ | If not within the specified range, replace the relay. |
