Power Brake Booster Vacuum Check Valve and Hose Replacement — RHD 3.0L
Removal Procedure
- With the engine OFF, apply and release the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the power vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.
- Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
- Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector, if equipped.
- Remove the power brake booster vacuum sensor (1) and vacuum hose assembly from the power vacuum brake booster.
- Release the spring clamp (1) and disconnect the power vacuum brake booster vacuum hose from the intake manifold fitting.
- Disconnect the power vacuum brake booster vacuum hose quick connect (1) from the power brake booster pump.
- Remove the power brake booster vacuum check valve and hose assembly.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the power vacuum brake booster vacuum hose quick connect (1) to the power brake booster pump.
Note: A small amount of methylated spirit may be used to ease assembly. Do not use soap.
- Install the power vacuum brake booster vacuum hose to the intake manifold fitting and secure the spring clamp (1).

- Install the power brake booster vacuum sensor (1) and vacuum hose assembly to the power vacuum brake booster.
- Connect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector, if equipped.
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
- Install the inlet manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
