Front Pipe Replacement - LF1
Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Hot Exhaust System Warning in the Preface section.
- Remove the bolts (1) supporting the front cradle brace (2), to the front cradle assembly.
- Disconnect the front pipe nuts (1) from the left catalytic converter and discard the gasket (2).
- Disconnect the front pipe nuts (1) from the right catalytic converter and discard the gasket (2).
- Remove the exhaust front pipe to the 3- way catalytic converter nuts (1) and discard the gasket (2).
- Remove the exhaust front pipe (3) from the exhaust isolator and remove from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the exhaust front pipe (3) with a NEW gasket (2), to the 3-way catalytic converter. Tighten the nuts (1) to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the exhaust front pipe nuts (1) to the right catalytic converter with a NEW gasket (2). Tighten the nuts (1) to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the exhaust front pipe nuts (1) to the left catalytic converter with a NEW gasket (2). Tighten the nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the front cradle brace (2) to the front cradle with the nuts (1). Tighten to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
Start the engine and check for exhaust for leaks.
