Generator Replacement - LNQ

1. Record all of the radio station presets.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
3. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
4. Remove the right front wheelhousing lining. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .



5. Remove the alternator battery jumper cable nut (1) from the back of the alternator.
6. Remove the alternator battery jumper cable (2).



7. Disconnect the engine harness connector from the alternator cable (1).



8. Remove the bolts (1) securing the alternator (2) to the engine.
9. Remove the alternator from the engine compartment.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




1. Install the alternator (2) to the engine and tighten bolts (1) to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).



2. Connect the alternator jumper harness (1) to the engine harness.



3. Install the alternator battery jumper cable (2) to the back of the alternator and tighten nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
4. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
5. Install the right front wheelhousing lining. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
6. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
7. Reset the radio channel presets.
