Evaporator Outlet Hose Replacement - V6

Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging

  4. Remove the evaporator outlet hose nut (1).
  5. Remove the evaporator outlet hose (2) from the compressor hose.

  7. Remove the evaporator outlet hose nut (1) from the thermal expansion valve.
  8. Remove the evaporator outlet hose bracket nut (2).
  9. Remove the evaporator outlet hose (3).
  10. Remove and discard the seal washer. Refer to Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement
  11. Cap the opening to prevent contamination.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install new seal washers to the evaporator outlet hose. Refer to Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement
  2. Position the evaporator outlet hose in the vehicle.
  3. Install the evaporator outlet hose (3) to the thermal expansion valve.
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Install the evaporator outlet hose nut (1) and tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
  6. Install the evaporator outlet hose bracket nut (2) and tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  8. Install the evaporator outlet hose (2) to the compressor hose.
  9. Install the evaporator outlet hose nut (1) and tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
  10. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  11. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
