Camshaft Timing Chain Installation

Special Tools

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

1. Check the timing chain tensioner with EN-49073 timing chain tensioner pin . If pin is not, insert the EN-49073 pin into the timing chain tensioner hole.
2. Install the timing chain (4).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

3. Install the timing chain guide (3) and timing chain guide retaining bolts (2) and tighten to 25 N·m (18.4 lb ft).
4. Install the exhaust camshaft (1) and insert the EN-50433 exhaust camshaft sprocket fixing adapter (5). Refer to Exhaust Camshaft Installation .



5. Align the timing chain point (1) and intake camshaft gear point (2) as shown in the graphic.
6. Align the intake camshaft gear point (3) and exhaust camshaft gear point (4) as shown in the graphic
7. Align the timing chain point (5) and crankshaft gear point (6) as shown in the graphic
8. Remove the EN-49073 pin (8) and EN-50433 adapter (7).
9. Install the timing chain front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Installation .
