Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
3. Remove the glow plug controller and bracket. Refer to Glow Plug Controller Replacement .
4. Remove the engine coolant surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement : Diesel  → Petrol Engines .
5. Remove the underhood bussed electrical center.

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Tighten
20 N·m (15 lb ft)
