Preliminary Procedures

1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
2. Raise and properly support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

Water in Fuel Drain

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

1. Attach a small piece of hose onto the water in fuel drain. Place the other end of the hose into an approved fuel-resistant container.
2. Open the drain 3 or 4 turns or until the water contaminated fuel seeps from the drain.

Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)
