Intake Manifold Replacement

1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the throttle body. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement .
3. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation pipe. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Replacement .
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
5. Remove the exhaust flexible pipe. Refer to Exhaust Flexible Pipe Replacement .



6. Disconnect the 3 vacuum hoses (1).
7. Disconnect the evaporative emission canister solenoid valve wiring harness plug.



8. Remove the 2 intake manifold brace bolts (1).
9. Remove the 2 intake manifold brace bolts (2).
10. Remove the intake manifold brace (3).
11. Lower the vehicle full height.




Note: Observe the positions from the vacuum hoses.

12. Remove the Vacuum hoses (1).
13. Disconnect the fuel feed pipe (2).



14. Remove the crankcase ventilation hose (3).
15. Disconnect the vacuum hose (2) from the intake manifold (1).
16. Disconnect the MAP sensor wiring harness plug.



17. Remove the 5 intake manifold bolts (2).
18. Remove the 4 intake manifold bolts (3).
19. Remove the intake manifold (1).
20. Remove the 4 intake manifold gaskets (4).

1. Install 4 NEW intake manifold gaskets (4).
2. Install the intake manifold (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

3. Install the 9 intake manifold bolts (2, 3) and tighten evenly to  25 N·m (18 lb ft).



4. Connect the vacuum hose (2) from the intake manifold (1).
5. Install the crankcase ventilation hose (3).
6. Connect the MAP sensor wiring harness plug.



7. Connect the fuel feed pipe (2).
8. Install the Vacuum hoses (1).
9. Raise and support the vehicle.



10. Install the intake manifold brace (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

11. Install the 2 intake manifold brace bolts (2)  58 N·m (43 lb ft).
12. Install the 2 intake manifold brace bolts (1)  22 N·m (16 lb ft).



13. Connect the 3 vacuum hoses (1).
14. Connect the evaporative emission canister solenoid valve wiring harness plug.
15. Install the exhaust flexible pipe. Refer to exhaust flexible pipe replacement Exhaust Flexible Pipe Replacement .
16. Lower the vehicle full height.
17. Install the throttle body. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement .
18. Install the exhaust gas recirculation pipe. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Replacement .
19. Close hood.
