DTC P2014
Diagnostic Instructions
DTC Descriptor
DTC P2014 00: Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve Position Not Learned
Circuit/System Description
The engine control module (ECM) performs the intake manifold runner procedure automatically when the enabling criteria have been met. After each ignition cycle, and before the enable criteria have been met, the ECM will use the previously learned value. If the ECM does not have a previously learned value, it will default to a stored calibrated value.
Conditions for Running the DTC
• | The battery voltage is equal to or greater than 11 V. |
• | The engine speed is between 750-850 RPM. |
• | The engine coolant temperature (ECT) is between 73-96°C (163-205°F). |
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The engine control module (ECM) determines that the intake manifold runner position is not learned.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
DTC P2014 is a Type C DTC.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
DTC P2014 is a Type C DTC.
Diagnostic Aids
If any service has been performed on the intake manifold runner, a relearn must be performed.
The intake manifold runner learn procedure is required when the following service procedures have been performed:
• | Intake Manifold Runner replacement |

Circuit/System Verification
- The following conditions must be met for the ECM to perform the intake manifold runner learn procedure:
• | The vehicle is in Park or Neutral. |
• | Start and idle the engine. |
• | The ECT is greater than 40°C (104°F). |
- Perform the Intake Manifold Runner Learn procedure. Refer to Control Module References .
- Verify the DTC does not reset.
⇒ | If the DTC resets, replace the K20 Engine Control Module. |
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
