Preliminary Procedures

1. Open and support the tailgate assembly.
2. Remove the tailgate lower trim finish panel. Refer to Tailgate Lower Trim Finish Panel Replacement .
3. Disconnect the high mount brake lamp electrical connector from the main tailgate harness.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
2.5 N·m (22 lb in)

Procedure

Remove the high mount brake lamp and harness connector from the rear end spoiler.
